Kaylee's 2nd Birthday - "Curious George"

It is so hard to imagine that our sweet, innocent, spunky, and slightly a little crazy...Kaylee turns 2 this year.  It seems like just last week we were anxiously awaiting her arrival.  Life goes so fast especially with all the blessings from God.
This year I decided to go for a Curious George theme.  Kaylee has for some reason developed a small obsession with the cute little monkey.  And when she walked in the room I wanted to blow her socks off with a "wow" factor :)  Bright colors and lots and lots of balloons!
Here's what I came up with...

Many of the decorations I made by hand.  Probably not that fancy but it saved money and was easy.  I set up the table in my mom's dining room.  Kaylee's first expression walking into the room was "Woa cooool!"  Which is exactly what I was hoping for!

Here we have popcorn in old fashioned popcorn bags purchased from Gordon Food Service, pretty cheap and I have a ridiculous amount so they can be saved.  I already had all of the glass containers which saved a bunch too.  The tallest container is filled with big gumballs for the bright colors :) I ended up purchasing a box of 850 of them from Sam's.  Of course after I purchased them and opened them, I found smaller boxes.  (never fails)  But we'll go through them eventually or give them away!  Stuck in the top are swirly suckers from Old Time Candy that I ordered online.  It's the coolest online candy shop where you can order in bulk.  Just about any candy that you can think of including old ones from when you were a kid.  On the front of the round stickers are small "Kaylee" labels with Curious George pictures.  I ordered from QTpartyDesigns from Etsy.  They were pretty cheap too and added a nice detail.  The medium jar was filled with Candy Dots also purchased from Old Time Candy.  I found a recipe on Pinterest to actually make them but decided this was much easier. (here's the recipe however Homemade Candy Dots)  The smallest jar is filled with Banana Runts, get it, monkey's eat bananas...  :)  anyway, it is also topped with chocolate covered pretzel rods covered in sprinkles.
Ahhh, the cake!  My lovely momma or as Kaylee and Cadence would say...Nana made the cake.  Trimmed in gumball topped with a George!  It was perfect!  For weeks Kaylee would ask her for a blue birthday cake.  Technically she had been asking since my niece's birthday in October.  So needless to say Nana make her a blue birthday cake.  And what I mean by blue...is that the cake itself was actually blue.  She dyed each layer the color of the icing :)

I choose to do snacks instead of actually food.  So much easier and much less stress!  Good ol'fashioned Teddy Grahams, Animal Crackers, and Goldfish.  Yummy!  Oh, and Kaylee's blocks for added fun!

These next little sparkly treats I also found on Pinterest.  BaNilla Sandwiches were super yummy!  Jason's favorite actually.  Banana slices sandwiched between peanut butter and vanilla wafers, rolled in sprinkles!
Bananas for our "little monkeys", pretzels, and banana muffins made my Aunt MeeMee!

Candy dishes filled with gummy bears and marshmallow ice cream cones :)

On top of the mantel I added just a few decorations.  All of the books we already had including the all of the George stuffed animals.  Worked out nicely!  And then added just a few pictures of our Kaylee bug!

I decorated the kiddie tables just a bit with cheap table cloths.  I also added a George head to the back of all the chairs :)  Each goodie bag contained Curious George fruit snacks, playdoh, crayons, coloring sheets, Curious George beginners book (which I purchased all from Half Priced Books for super cheap), and candy necklaces.

You may be able to catch a glimpse of the awesome video made from by brother, Ryan.  He was able to add Kaylee's favorite toddler videos, a slide show of pictures, and Kaylee's all time FAVORITE music video "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson.  It's the theme song to the Curious George movie.  She watches it over and over and over!
And the happy birthday girl, can you tell?!?!

We had over 25 balloons in the room and needless to say, she was in toddler heaven!

And the guests begin to arrive!  Hello baby Evan!
Aunt TT and Emerson...Mamo and Shirley!
Baby Gavin noticed the balloons too :)
Imagine that, Kaylee found the candy necklace!

My lovely dear friend Kellie Nowacki and her little blessing Amara.

 Baby Cadence!

 Sissy and Daddy!!
 Emerson!!!!

Gavin didn't care for the hat too much ;)
 Evan didn't mind
Such a sweet amazing woman, my Traci!
I love this woman, such an inspiration.  I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends around me who are women of God.  So important to have!!
Super cute stuff from Amara !
Every time Kaylee opened a gift, she had to go show Nana and the family :)

I tried to take pictures of all the gifts but that didn't work so well.  She was all over the place, way too much excitement!
The last gift which was also the biggest one.  When I told her to go ahead and open it she peaked underneath and then said "mommy do it" :)
Uncle Wee and Aunt Shirley got her a LaLaLoopsy Playhouse.  And it was a hit!!

The only daddy that came.  What a trooper Andy Wendling!

Daddy having so much fun! ;)
 Baby Evan was pooped!
Nana decided to get Kaylee a vacuum....is that a hint?!?!?  And did I add that it is the most annoying vacuum ever created!!!!!!!

Cake Time!!!  Happy Birthday baby girl!!

Theresa Wendling, what a beautiful woman!  So grateful to call her a friend.
