Trick-Or-Treat!

What a long day!  Tricking treating just isn't what it used to be but still definitely a lot of fun for the kids.  Alyse had a heck of a time picking out her costume this year.  She finally decided (after a little compromising) on a Spiderweb Ghost.  Turned out not too bad.  Although, we ran out of time to drag spiderwebs all over her which would have added a different effect.  Don't think she really cared though! :)  And for Kaylee, well, I was on top of it this year.  I had her costume really early and I was so proud of myself.  I found a Bumble Bee with a tutu, too cute!!  But I purchased it so early that I didn't really take into account that she could grow.  Brilliant!!  Truthfully, I don't think she grew that much but the costume was too small.  She was tugging at it and whining but luckily Nana had purchased a back-up.  A cute little witch!  Which fits her perfectly as of late! ;)  Anyway, everything turned out great!
We met at Nana's to eat some pizza and get dressed.  Then out we went!  My mom's neighborhood just goes wild at Halloween.  It's like one big party.  Families hanging out in drive ways and cars lined down the street!  Kids everywhere!!

The wagon didn't last long for Kaylee.  As soon as she realized she could go to people's doors and get candy...she was gone!  "trick or treat...please...thank you"  And then finally she dropped the "trick or treat" and just stayed with the "please"  :)

My baby niece Cadence...cutest duckie ever!!
So Alyse actually looks kinda creepy ;)

Mommy's small contribution to dressing up...although my head is so big that the wig was smashing my brain and I got a headache :(
And we came home to our award winning pumpkins!!!

Happy Halloween!

Carving Pumpkins

From our exciting trip the the pumpkin patch we ended up with 3 pumpkins.  I carved Kaylee's which of course was the best...Alyse carved her own and Daddy carved one.  Believe it or not Kaylee wanted nothing to do with the yucky stuff.  She stuck her hand in once and that was it.  So we stuck her at the table with play-doh and she was just as happy!

Family trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Thank goodness we had good weather!  A little windy but totally do-able :)  Kaylee has developed this slightly strange yet funny obsession with pumpkins.  However, I'm really not surprised.  She's kinda weird like that.  So I knew taking her to the pumpkin patch for yet a second time was going to be interesting.  Waterman's Farmers Market just also happens to be where we have went as a family for the past few years.  They have all kinds of stuff for the kids to do.  A huge pile of hay to climb, bounce houses, small mazes, petting zoo, and some random other things.  They also have an enormous mechanical dinosaur that I'm pretty sure has been there for 50+ years.  It was there when I was a kid.  The workers lower the head down and insert a pumpkin into the mouth.  They then raise it back into the air and as they are doing this, the dinosaur growls and makes loud "dinosaur like" noises.  After a few minutes of the growling it "eats" or smashes the pumpkin and it falls to the ground.  Needless to say, the first time Kaylee saw this she was totally freaked out!  Which is one of the reasons we left so quickly with her field trip a week prior.  At that time, I explained to her (as she was clinging on for dear life) that dinosaurs eats pumpkins, not people.  That seemed to help.  Except for the fact that she has proceed to tell me that "dinosaurs eat pumpkins not peoples" every single day since we went to the pumpkin patch....literally...every day.
Here are some pictures!!
So they attached this tube to the side of a huge tractor for a slide.  Of course Kaylee gets up there and couldn't figure out to lift her butt up onto the slide.  There was like a 4" difference in height from the tractor platform to the tube.  And then a line starts backing up behind her.  So Alyse had to cut everyone in line to get up to her and help her up.  Then she was a happy camper!
Blurry but it was the only close up.
One of the reason we enjoy Waterman's so much is that they offer a hayride to and from the pumpkin patch where the kids can search for their perfect pumpkin.  So we are loaded on the hayride waiting to go...so far so good...until I realized we were facing the dinosaur!! :(

(Kaylee's cute boots)
....AND then she sees it.  After that, it was all over.

But we made it and off they go!

Pretty sure they were in "pumpkin heaven"!

 On a MISSION!

Loading back up and we're headed back!

They also offered pony rides this year.  I knew Alyse would like it but I wasn't quite sure about Kaylee.  Of course she loved it and was asking to ride again.  These are the two fast shots I got while trying to hold on to Kaylee.

Then we headed to the petting zoo part and was having fun until I looked down and saw the goat eating Kaylee's skirt.  Next thing I know she screaming "no no no goat!!"

Good good stuff!
