Anderson Orchard 2011

Each year, I always try to make sure we get to the apple orchard.  It is such fun and really gets you into the fall season.  Which if you don't know...that's my favorite!!!!  As a child we went to Anderson Orchard so of course that's where I want to take the girls.  Its so much fun driving back through all the rows of trees to find just the right apple!  And to eat a few along the way :)
Here is a small video of Kaylee attempting to pull off her first apple.  (I have a feeling that we are going to love this new video recorder!)
***When I first starting recording this little tid bit, there was an airplane in the background so it is a little loud.  The planes were flying through like crazy!

Attempting to get the girls to both look at the same time...impossible!! :)

Eating her apple!

 Alyse climbing like a monkey!
 Really excited about her apple!

Headed back to the car with her apple in hand :)

"Sisssssssy w'are you??  Sissssssssy w'are you??"  (giggles!)

The girls really enjoyed going.  The weather was perfect and they were super excited that Daddy could come! :)  Can't wait for the pumpking patch!

Wrapping up the weekend

Jason family had come into town for Alyse's birthday.  We don't get to seem them as often as we'd like but when we do, it's always a hoot :)
Here's a few shots from their last night here...

My favorite dinner!  Pizza!!!!

I'm soooo mad that this was out of focus :(  I was hurrying.

Really babe?!?  I love you!
Finally!  A good picture of Grandma Gail and Grandpa BooBoo!

Love you guys!

El Rodeo Dinner

Instead of having the family celebrate Alyse's birthday with the kiddos...we went to dinner after the party.  Of course she picked Mexican!  Here are a few shots from dinner with the family!

One long but fun day!

"Mad Scientist" 9th Birthday Party

Welcome to Alyse's 9th birthday party!  When we originally discussed what she'd like to do for her birthday, I had given her a list of 15 different options.  Anything from going to Incredible Pizza Company to make-overs and a fashion show.....and she chose, "Mad Scientist".  Thanks to Jason grandma, I had a book call Cool Party Mom with a ton of different party ideas which came in handy.  Needless to say this party took a TON of prep work.  And none of it would have been a success without the help of my amazing friends and family.
A special thanks to my awesome Momma for the eyeball cakes!  Also a big thanks to Grandma Edgar and  Mom Gail for the beginning prep work and clean up.  And last but certainly not least, my Lab Assistants Kellie Nowacki, Traci Prescott, Jennifer Howe, Stacy Frazier, and Stephanie Stanley!

Unfortunately I was running behind and scrambling like a crazy woman before the party started so I forgot to take a few of the pictures that I was really wanting.  However, I will do my best to describe the environment and decor with my awesome writing skills (NOT!).
As you walked towards the front door the children were greeted with a large sign, welcoming them to the Edgar Laboratory.  After opening the door, Jason "checked-in" each Doctor by typing their name into a scripted greeting that I had created into a website.  The website then translated the typed greeting into a computerized voice.  The Doctors found this quite funny!  They were handed their name tags and then directed to pick out a lab coat (men's white t-shirts cut through the center), safety goggles, and face mask.  Then they headed to the first experiment in the Laboratory Cafeteria as a group until everyone had arrived.

Magic Milk was simple yet quite a little success.  A small amount of milk in a paper plate, a few drops of food coloring, and then you dab the food coloring with a q-tip covered in dish soap.  When you touch it the colors swirl and mix on their own.  Pretty neat!

After this small experiment we headed to the Laboratory Basement which was covered in blacklights.  I had the basement separated with 5 different tables with different experiments.  I had the Doctors pair off into groups of 3 so that it wasn't too crazy.

The experiments were slightly a little messy so it's a good thing we did the "lab coats"!  But all in all, I think the Doctors really enjoyed it.  They were able to take something home from each experiment...slime, oobleck, a magnifying glass from finger printing, a bag of blown up soap, and a lava lamp!   Once everyone had a chance to do the experiements we headed back upstairs for food, cake, and to get their goodie bags.  The goodie bags were put together with Hazard Material Bags that I had purchased from Amazon (super cheap).  They included PopRocks, homemade Pixie sticks which I put inside of test tubes, glow in the dark bouncy balls, plus all of the items that they made.

Miss Kaylee enjoying Toxic Potion too and wanting Daddy's PopRocks!
Trying PopRocks, of course she wanted more :)

Opening gifts!
(I did not post everyone's gift, just a few because I had a ton of pics)

Alyse said it was the best party ever! :)  And the rest of the kids seemed to have fun too!  Here are a couple of website and blogs that helped me create this interesting party.

Again, thank you to all who helped!  I certainly needed :)
